About The Math Perimeter

Mathematics isn’t just about numbers. It’s about discovery, problem-solving, and seeing the world in a new way. But too often, learning math feels overwhelming, confusing, or out of reach. What if there were a better way? At The Math Perimeter, I’m on a mission to change that. Whether you’re struggling with a tough concept, looking for a fresh perspective, or just curious about what’s possible, you’re in the right place. Keep scrolling to see how I’m making math more accessible, engaging, and approachable for everyone.

The Math Perimeter’s Story

In the quiet of his home office, Joseph Barnett, embarked on a mission to transform mathematics education. With dual Bachelor of Science degrees in mathematics and physics, a Master of Science in physics, and experience as a graduate teaching assistant, Joe had witnessed firsthand the challenges students faced in mastering advanced mathematical concepts. His personal journey, shaped by overcoming the obstacles of living with a disability, fueled his passion for creating accessible learning environments.

Recognizing the fragmented nature of existing educational resources, Joe envisioned The Math Perimeter: a single, comprehensive platform where anyone could fully learn undergraduate mathematics. His goal was to make math education not only accessible but also engaging and approachable for all learners.

Guided by core values of accessibility, clarity, curiosity, excellence, empowerment, and community, Joe set out to build this platform. He believed that learning should be available to everyone, regardless of background or resources, and that mathematics should be engaging and approachable. By fostering a supportive community, he aimed to empower individuals to explore, question, and grow beyond boundaries.

As Joe clicked “publish” on the first lesson of The Math Perimeter, he knew this was just the beginning. With a clear mission and a decade-long vision, he was committed to breaking down barriers in mathematics education, inspiring a lifelong love of learning, and making advanced mathematical concepts accessible to all.
